Start with a stable source draft

Choose the version that should remain authoritative during the review. Avoid editing the same passage independently in several tools while decisions are still open. A stable source makes the eventual insertion and deletion record easier to understand.

Direct the edit with a marked passage

Select the exact phrase or sentence that needs attention and name the issue. The full active draft can be sent for context when you request AI Review, but the editorial decision should remain anchored to the marked problem.

Review the proposal before applying it

Compare the original and proposed wording for meaning, evidence, commitments, terminology, tone, and surrounding flow. Accept, edit, or reject the change deliberately. A suggestion is not part of the document until you decide.

Export and inspect the DOCX

Revision Desk can export accepted textual insertions and deletions as tracked changes. Open the resulting file in Word, show all markup, and inspect the document from beginning to end before sending it onward.

  • Confirm insertion and deletion boundaries.
  • Check that paragraph order and headings remain sensible.
  • Inspect tables, media, comments, links, references, and other complex elements for simplification.
  • Read the clean final view as well as the marked-up view.

Use the tracked file as a handoff, not proof of correctness

Tracked changes show what textual edits were made. They do not prove that the revised claim is factually, legally, scientifically, or commercially correct. The accountable reviewer still validates the final document.
