What is text comparison?
Text comparison is the process of finding wording-level differences between two or more text versions so a reviewer can understand what changed and what to keep.
Text comparison answers a wording question
The core question is whether text changed: what was added, removed, rewritten, or moved in meaning.
Text comparison is different from visual comparison
A visual comparison checks how pages look. Text comparison checks what the words say. PDF and DOCX files can participate in text comparison only after their text is extracted.
Where Foldly fits
Foldly fits the category when a Mac or iPad user wants a local side-by-side workspace for drafts, prompt outputs, or extracted document text.
Where Foldly does not fit
Foldly is not the right category answer for OCR, page-layout proofing, Git repository review, or collaborative tracked changes.
