What files can I compare?
Paste text directly, open plain-text files, or import a PDF or DOCX file. Foldly extracts document text and places it in the same comparison workspace.
Does Foldly preserve PDF or Word formatting?
Foldly compares the words, rather than the original page layout. PDF and DOCX imports become editable plain text and save as text files. Scanned, image-only PDFs need OCR in another app first.
Can I use Foldly offline?
Yes. Text comparison and document text extraction run locally on your Mac or iPad. You don’t need an account or an internet connection to compare your text.
How many versions can I compare?
On Mac, you can view an original and up to three comparison columns. iPad shows two total columns in portrait and up to three in landscape.
